These people tell you that they are the best in the world and if we can't find the problem no one can. Well I have to tell you they are really bad news. They lie, cheat, falsify records and overcharge and that's not all of it.
We had an Eastern Gray Kangaroo by the name of Rudy who we loved to death and we took him in there one night on their advice and he never came home. He was 4 years old and a real healthy little guy. They told me the next day they needed to open him up to find out what was wrong with him, he was not acting right. They told us the next day they took samples and sent them off to be analyzed but that would take two to three days. We said we were going to call the vet in the zoo where they raised Roos and the doctor by the name of Dr. Myers said NO we will not discuss him with anyone else. No outside help as we are not allowed to do that. I questioned this as I know better, but she insisted.
The next day she said he needed a blood transfusion and that they did not have access to the blood. I said I can get it and they said NO. They could not accept outside help or materials of any kind.
Needless to say he died after 5 days in intensive care and all without referring to anyone who was knowledgeable with Kangaroos. We paid to have him cremated and they lost his remains and 6 months later they gave us a dog's remains and said it was him. They charged us $6,100.00 and we found out later by a state of Florida investigator who we had looking into his death that the Hospital lied to us as the blood samples were mixed up with a German Shepard and was not our Kangaroo's at all. They had treated him for the wrong things and then covered it all up. Now the records have mysteriously disappeared and they claim it never happened, but we have a copy of the state investigators records showing they lied and covered it up.
This hospital is a real joke but it's not funny. While we were there we watched them badger people for money when they had just lost a loved one and it was horrifying to see. They would not let us out until we paid them over $6,000 and at 8:00 at night.
This facility also had a warrant out for my arrest on a bad check that was not issued by me, obviously in an attempt to try and get even.
They are NOT the best by along shot, what they are, is a bunch of students who are learning and doing so on your animals and at a very high price.
