Care Credit
Deceptive billing practices El Paso, Texas

On July 30, we completed a credit application at our vet's office. This seemed like a prudent way to handle unexpected and high vet bills due to two very ill cats.

In Aug. We received the credit card in the mail. That was all we received in August.

On Sept 17th we received our first bill from Care Credit. On the 18th of Sept one of the cats had another vet's visit and we attempted to add that day's services to Care Credit. The transaction was denied. The office gal contacted Care Credit and no reason was given for the denial, only we had to contact them directly.

Today, I called Care Credit and since my husband's name was the only name on the account, he had to give his approval for "Christine" to talk to me. This approval was provided. I explained the situation to Christine and she informed me that we were past due, there was a $39 late fee and access to our $4,000 credit line was cut off due to non payment. I explained to Christine that we'd never rec'd a bill until just this week. She "argued" the point with me that a bill had been sent out in Aug and we never paid.

After attempting to discuss with Christine that we never received a bill, that we always pay our bills on time (we have no on-going credit debt as it is paid off each month), I got no where with Christine and asked to speak to a supervisor. She refused to transfer me and continue to ask me over and over why I needed to be transferred. Each time I tried to explain, she would cut me off - actually stepping on my words - I continually asked her to stop interrupting me and she would interrupt me and told me I had to explain why I needed to speak to a supervisor. I became increasingly frustrated with her rudness - she warned me that if I continued to yell (I was not yelling, I was emphasizing my frustration that she continued to cut me off) she would hang up.in utter frustration, I kept quiet. She again asked why I wanted to be transferred, I attempted to explain, she cut me off. When I continued to be silent, she then told me as a 3rd party, she could not transfer me. I asked her who the 1st and 2nd parties were and she told me the credit card holder, and that was my husband, not me.

Mind you, she already had my husband's approval to talk to me. She did not care. She refused to transfer me. I told her I was going to hang up, would be sending a letter to the company reiterating our conversation and to have a wonderful day.

Then I did a google search on complaints for Care Credit and discovered that this company has a practice of deception and it certainly appears to me that we have been caught up in a scam.insist they have sent out a statement and then charge a $39 late fee. We are going to pay off the entire bill of $565.03. I have contacted our vet's office advising them of the billing practice of a company they are promoting in their office.

Something has to be done about a company that takes advantage of the public the way Care Credit it.By the way, when I called Care Credit, the auto ans directs you to GEonlineservices.com. Oh my gosh, a company like GE is involved in this scam? What on earth is happening to our country?
