Phoenix Promotions used to be knows as Tradewind Promotions. If you look that up you'll see more of what they do. Basically, this company is a big joke.
WHAT THEY SAY: They work for fortune 500 company and various charities.
THE TRUTH: They have the rights to put a logo (i.E. Disney) on a dollar store toy and sell it for $20. The charities they work for get less than 5% of the sales on only certain items.
WHAT THEY SAY: You make $400/week to start as a distibuter. When promoted you make up to $800/week as a trainer.
THE TRUTH: The pay is based strictly on commision and you usually slit it with the newer people as an illusion of them getting paid.
WHAT THEY SAY: It takes about a year to go trough the program and own your own company making $65,000 a year. With the possibilities of becoming a regional manager and making $150,000.
THE TRUTH: You never really own your own company. Quantum (also search them on this site) owns every piece of "your company", including having control over the money in your bank. You actually only make about $26,000 a year as an owner and that is only if your office is doing extremely well. As a regional manager you can make even less than that because you are in charge of so many offices and still getting commission. So if your offices aren't doing well then you won't get paid.
WHAT THEY SAY: The money you spend working for the company (i.E. Gas, materials for promotions) are tax write offs and you get it all back at the end of the year.
THE TRUTH: Nothing is a tax write off. On some days you will drive to your event (i.E. A gas station) which can be up to 50 miles away and have to pay for the gas. You are required to drive every day to and from these places.
OTHER FACTS:
- You will work 14 hour days 6 days a week. Making only about $450/week if you're lucky.
- There "events" consist of setting up a table from Wal-Mart at gas stations trying to sell people car wax, standing outside a CVS attacking everyone coming in and out until they buy something. Those annoying people outside the supermarket, you know the ones who tell you they are helping find missing children and such, that's what you'll be doing.
- During your interview they will tell you there isn't much travel if you've got kids at home. If you are single they'll tell you you can travel often. Aswell as many other flip/flops depending on what they think you want to hear.
- They say it will take you a year of the crappy sales to own a company.in reality it takes much longer. The owner of Phoenix Promotions (Ashley Baffaro) just became the manager and has been there for 2 and a half years.
- People who work there end up living 5 people in a 3 bedroom appartment sharing 2 cars because no one can afford to live on their own.
I know all this because I worked for this company for several months and witnessed all their shady techniques. Trust me when I say that this is not worth your time.
