I had an AOL account using my Discover card. After I ordered something online with my Conseco card it was charged the next month for AOL. I checked my account, and it was still listed under Discover.
I notified both AOL and Conseco. Neither responded. The next month Conseco was charged for AOL again, and for $38.00 when my account was for 9.95. I wrote both cmpanies again and cancelled my Conseco card. I also wrote and cancelled AOL. Both letters were sent certified with return receipts.
Four months later I received a bill from AOL for the service after my account was cancelled. Then a few months later I received notice from AOL that I had never contacted them and they were turning me over to a collection agency. I have several copies of certified letters to both AOL and Conseco.
Aol has refused the free AOL that came with my daughter's gateway computer because they say I owe them money for wervice after it was cancelled, and Conseco has turned me over to a ollection agency for the money they say I owe them for the reported errors in billing that they did not respond too.
