About 2 years ago we found Dennis Hurley on Craigslist for some handy man services. It was a small job with not many materials. He asked for $100 upfront to buy materials which we gave him. He cashed the check the next day. We did not see him or hear from him for weeks.
He finally called and said he was having some health problems and that he would finish the job in a couple of days. He returned to working but when I looked at what he was doing it didn't seem as though he knew what he was doing. He left all his tools in our garage for months and asked us for another $50 for more materials. We gave him the money hoping he would finish the job.
We never heard from him again and he only worked on the job for about 4 hours and didn't really do anything but make a big mess! Two young guys finally came and got his tools and we never saw or heard from him again. We hired another handyman to do the job which he finished in one day.
