I signed up for a website in 2005 with HWS. I tried to send my material via the boxes contained in the "e-package" that was sent to me. It did not work.
They would not accept a word document with the contents either. I tried about 10 times then gave up. Customer Service was useless in assisting.
They eventually said in 2008 that I could send a word document. First of all, I was allocated to a customer service representative, then another, then another, then another then after the 7th one, I was given a "designer's" email address.

I am confident that this person has no knowledge of web design at all: perhaps a stay-at-home mum who was promised $8 per hour for "work at home". The work was abysmal, and she clearly could not think straight, remember requests etc. She added things, then when I asked that they be taken off, she would change other things not even asked for.

I complained to her supervisor by email. No reply after 3 weeks. Even the previously helpful CSR has disappeared.

It is all a staged front, now. I think that there is no way that they have designed any websites, of late. All they have done is STAGED a business and they are probably doing well, as people continually find there site, rated "top 1%" they say, in the country. Top 1% of frauds, perhaps.

In the past 3 years, and reading Better Business Bureau reports that this company has made so many mistakes that their business is now actively and knowlingly trading in failure, in what they CANNOT DELIVER.
In other words, they charge you upfront, then treat you so badly you give up. If you do succeed in getting a website, which is very VERY unlikely, you have the privilege of paying $50 per month for hosting, about 10 times the regular fee, and they commandeer the domain you asked for. True, it is in the fine print, but on the 8th page.
There may have been a time, for the first month or so or existence when they cared for their reputation, but now they possibly stumbled on the fact, that with e-commerce anmd the removal of them from their customers, that there is MORE money in failing than succeeding. They pay totally inept people and they do really bad work.
These people take the hits on this website and BBB, but they have already taken your money all the way to the bank. The few lawsuits they lose, due to customer indifference, or more forward shuffling, are easily paid for by new victims.
If you complain they call, show care and concern, for about 15 minutes.!
Bigger speculations
Their time in court is coming as the unseen forces of class action mount and all the previous managers, directors and executives in the "know" about this scam end up facing justice at last.
