Had a "gentlemans agreement" to purchase vehicle. Mr Tommy Lindsay and his wife traveled to my home and agreed to purchase a vehicle from me for less than i wanted to sell it. I had it listed on Ebay and Craigs List and removed it from the listings and lost $50 and turned buyers away because the Lindsays agreed to buy it. I called them and asked about insurance and tags and was told by them that it was Ok to go ahead and take the insurance and tags off because they would be bringing their own. I called them this past Saturday and was told they would be here the first of the week to pick up the vehicle. On Tuesday of this week i went to the bank to have the title notarized and called them. Tommy wouldn't answer his phone. His wife called me back and said that "something had come up" and Tommy should have called me.
I lost money by taking it off of ebay. I lost sales by telling people that it was already sold.
Beware of Tommy Lindsay and his wife from Lumberton NC.
