My two cents concerning ITT. I am a 2004 CNS graduate. I am currently an IT consultant. While ITT is expensive when comparing apples to apples. I have found that my degree from ITT has not held me back in my career. My degree from ITT did help me get my foot in the door in my first IT position several monthes after I graduated and since that 1st job I have advanced each year.
My salary has also increased each year. According to the salary reports online, I rank somewhere in the middle in terms of salary compared to others in similar positions. I have also seen 11% increases each year in my salary the past 2 years. The average salary increase across jobs in the U.S. Is 4%.
The complaints on ITT will always be there. I read them while I was attending and it did scare me a bit. I did wondered if I had made a big mistake. Not only the money and time but if the reports were correct and a degree from ITT was worthless then I was really going to be in a tough spot. As you have read, the opinions of others are just that. They have a sliver of truth but can't be fully believed. I also saw many students who didn't want to do any work. They always had an excuse as to why. Mostly they just used ITT as a scape goat to mask there own responsibility for their education.
As for the instructors - All of my instructors knew there stuff. Most had or were also teaching at the state university in town. Several were able to pass on their personal knowledge of the real world working in the private sector owning their own business.
