My husband and I have been looking for an Akita dog for over 2 years and the breeder here where we live could not get a litter from her dog. I had my oldest daughter go online in search of Akita Breeders and she came across this site about buy sell puppies. When she searched it she found one that had some puppies that were free. I couldn't believe my eyes so I filled in the information for them to email me. We are a limited income family with 5 children. I asked numerous questions about the puppies and continued to talk to him about the cost. He assured me that he was not asking for any money since his wife was very sick and all he wanted was for the puppies to go to a good home.
I gave him my toll free phone number for him to call so we could discuss this further but he never did. I was told that it would only cost me $150 for the delivery and was asked if I knew of anyone else that wanted one because he had two puppies. I asked him how much it would be for the 2 and he told me it would be $300 but that he would pay $50 to insure the delivery. I agreed and thanked him.
The next morning we got a call from the delivery agency requesting payment through money gram or western union within the hour. The email I received from the delivery agency requested payment be sent to Limbe in Cameroon. I found this very suspicious so I started investigating a little more. I made a few phone calls to find a # for the agency stated in Aberdeen and there was no listing, I then called our airport to see if they received flights from this delivery agency. They informed me that they have never heard of this agency.
I then went on the internet to check out this so called agency and that is when I found the website right on the top about a Money Grab in Limbe Internet. I went to it and it confirmed my fears. This was a SCAM and I was relieved to find this out before sending the money. The money we would have lost would have been devastating to us. It's bad enough that our children who were looking forward to getting the puppies are heart broken but at least we still have our money.
For anyone looking for purebred puppies be very careful and do your own investigation before sending any money.
