Progressive Business Publications' telemarketers are so nice. Sometimes I let one talk me into receiving two or three "trial - no obligation" issues, IF they are sufficiently pleasant and I want them to get credit for it. I listen carefully and challenge anything that sounds like I have to take any action at all to discontinue the "subscription" once the trial is ended.
If I have to return it, I don't accept it in the first place. I am far too busy.
I was therefore appalled and angered when I opened today's mail and read, "2ND NOTICE - PAYMENT IS NOW OVERDUE" for a 12 month subscription from PBP that I most certainly did not order. I am a department of one. No one else would have authorized it, and my personal name (gleaned from their phone calls) is on it. It is a flat out lie and a deceptive business practice.
They are demanding $230.00. There is not even a phone number on this invoice to discuss or protest it; I have to spend my company's time and money making a written refusal.
I hate to be rude to the individuals who call. And call. And call. But this has to stop. I never want to have the slightest involvement with this company again unless it's in a class action suit.
