Charged My Credit Card Without Authorization

I had two charges on my credit card statement for $19.23 that were labeled "Member Services". I didn't know what these charges pertained to so I called up my credit card company. The credit card company told me it was for "cable services" and provided me with a number to call.

I called the number and waited... And waited... So I googled the name of the company as it was provided in the recording when my call was first "answered". I found the consumer complaints instead of a company website.

I am even more on the deffensive, as the customer service rep finally picks up. I ask him where he got my credit card information and who authorized for these services. He says that they are a "sales partner" to DishNetwork and that he can access my account if I give him my home phone number.

I tell him that I will not be providing him with ANY personal information as I did not recognize nor authorize any of these services. The rep says that DishNetwork probably signed me up for this and I missed it in the agreement since I am a new subscriber... I say "new subscriber... I have been at DishNetwork for YEARS and this is the first I ever heard of any protection plan from some outside company".

I tell him to cancel whatever it is I am signed up for... He says if I give him my DishNetwork information he can cancel it for me... Again, what did he not understand about me NOT giving him any personal information... I tell him that I will call DishNetwork and work it out with them since they allegedly signed me up for this plan.

I talk to a DishNetwork rep that says she has never heard of this company and they do not sign-up their customers to protection plans offered by E-Club. She puts a note in my file and I tell her she should consider putting a warning on their website or warning other customers of this kind of activity.

Good news is when I called my credit card company they removed the charges to my account and will be contacting E-club or Homes Club, or whatever it is they are calling themselves and will cancel any furture attempts they make to charge my card.
