United Reporting Alliance
Bold affront to the naive elderly who cannot read understand the fine print

My elderly sister-in-law has been getting up to 15-20 of these rip-off scams a day and sending in money to get "a chance to receive a report." She never got a thing from them, no reports ever showed up. And now the latest mail received:

The United Reporting Alliance wants a check (no cash or MO) for $2.75 so they can take money directly out of her checking account until she notifies them to stop (bet they change their address by the time you try to contact them).

What gets me is that the print on the letter is small, on the back it is in gray (hard for elderly to read), it is full of hard-to-understand phrases, and the graphics are appealing to those who think they have gotten something important. Thank goodness we were able to intercept her sending in more money before she lost everything in these phony contests.

Like so many others, URA is a scam that is getting more brazen all the time. Watch out for your elderly relatives and friends. They could end up broke and they'll never get a penny from these charlatans.
