Sending money by way of moneygram or western union is for sending money for friends and family or for a bill you may owe and you know the company. Anyone asking you to pay by moneygram or western union is more than likely going to ripp you off. When sending money by way of moneygram or western union, you have no recourse. No way to ever get your money back. Ever.

I received a check and letter dated 8-8-08, in the amount of $4,875.00, Claim#: JH/CA-0011, saying I was winner of $125,000 US dollars, winner of North American Shoppers Sweepstakes held on May 5th in the 2nd category. Ticket serial #38476075 Drew the Lucky Winning NO 38477 889. Says to expedite the processing, enclosed is check in amount of above which is part of my winnings being ent to you, the sole purpose of this check is to enable you pay for the applicable GOVERNMENT TAXES on your big winning. The tax amount is $ $2,975.00. To be paid by Moneygram or Western Union. Directly to the tax agent. When the winning is processed you will receive your final Check a lump sum payment of $120,125, 00 this amount will be sent to you and delievred by FEDEX.
Do not attempt to use this check until you call. Claim agent Mr. George Stanley at l - 416 839 - 8417 Signed and congratulations yours truly Mrs. Brenda HIcks (Promotion Manager.) Check # is 8328, drawn by Star Capital Securities Inc. 18315 US Highway 41N, Lutz, FL 33549-4468. Bay Cities Bank, 2202 N. Westshore Blvd. Ste 150 Tampa, Fl 33607. Dated 8-08. Sure looks real, but I read another letter of a complaint by another woman that said exactly the same thing and the same amount. I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent. What a Riffoff.
