This person sent me 4 fake money orders from Wal-mart, asking me to deposit them and then send all but 10% to different addresses in Ghana. The letter I received is post stamped from Ghana, and I knew it was from an email that I received a couple of days ago from an email address of [email protected]. The email was looking for someone to be the middle man for money transactions.
They actually thought I was going to deposit them into my bank... NOT! I am not stupid, and if they wanted the other two people to get the money so bad, why did they need me to send it to them when they could have easily sent it to them in their own country in the first place, versus sending it to me, and then me sending it back their way. Really dumb. Do they really think we are lacking in common sense?
I wanted to post this because I really hope to save someone some heartache. I have since then turned the fake money orders over to my local back to use as examples of what tellers should be looking for, and how easily people can be fooled if they are not thinking. Here is the email that I received, & I hope it helps someone!
