APX Alarm Double Billing for Service Provo Utah

After numerous problems with a door sensor, I called APX for help. They were not able to fix the problem over the phone and sent a service tech. The service tech is an independant contractor for the company. Before he started the repair he asked for the service fee. We paid him with a check made out to APX. That was over a month ago. Today I received a billing from APX saying they were charging my credit card for the fee. I called billing and asked for an explaination since I had already paid the service rep. After receiving the "run around" from the billing rep I asked for a supervisor. After being on hold for almost 5 minutes she came back on and said there were none available, but it was up to me to contact the bank and find out what had happened to the check. If I could not provide them, they would bill the credit card. I asked who would pay for the bank copies and she replied "you of course." She said if that wasn't possible I could cancel the contract for $1800, also charged to my credit card. I told her to have a supervisor call me back. She said it would take 3-4 days before one became available. I sent an email to customer support, but no response from them.
