I got a call from a Frank Cruz from a law office in Southern California with the number 323-988-7918. He had a very strong middle eastern accent it was hard to understand the message he left me via voicemail. I called back and he informed me that I was going to be arrested for basically theft from a payday loan I had taken out in 2007. At this point I'm in tears not understanding anything that this man in referring to all I hear is Jail and Arrest, I have three little girls at home I can't get arrested here I am pleading with this gentlemen. The he transfers me to a Justin Smith (213) 992-3511which I though was weird because he had the same accent and almost sounded like the same person, and Justin informs me I have to pay $1,495.00 by today or Monday the cops will go to my house or work and arrest me. So I give him a credit card for the amount. He said I had to write a letter of apology and fax it to 714-710-4103. I did everything as I was told. Well an hour later I had two more voicemails from the same person and expressing the same thing. Now I'm getting nervous so I call the 213-992-3511 and spoke to Justin and asked him again if this was taken care of. He hung up on me. I called back and he said that was an accident he lost the phone call, and continued to reassure me everything was ok. Getting off the phone I had an uneasy feeling so I decided to look them up and I found them here on rip off reports. I immediately called the person whom's credit card I used to stop the charges and the charged the card with Patrick Williams & Associates. When that isn't the lawfirm they had originally said. So I filed and local police report. I also called Justin Smith back and told him that the authorities have been contacted because of the scam he is pulling he immediately hung up. So please before you pay anything check into it.
