I found the United Patent Resource Company online when I was looking to patent an idea I had. All the search results had glowing things to say about the company (I found out later they pay for that) I contacted the company and they were very convincing that they could do a lot for me and really get my idea out there. I was contacted by a woman that called herself (Michelle Jones, I do not believe that is her real name) she told me I would be contacted by a project manager named George Chandler that would help me with my idea if they believed it can be done.
Well I was contacted by a man that called himself George Chandler (I also believe this is a bogus name) and he told me the idea was so unique and asked me to send him some sketches of my idea and not to discuss it with anyone. He had me almost convinced that I would make so much money I would never have to worry about anything ever again. He then told me that I would just need to send them money for the patent fees and then the rest they would handle and I would be rich. He told me that there was nothing else out there like my idea. He wanted me to send him $795.00 by check or credit card and mail or fax it over to him. I was told that I would not have to pay anything else but the patent fees and they would not charge anything unless I made money. He told me it was a 20% fee. However there was no contract.
I went to the United States Patent Web site and discovered there was absolutely NOTHING that cost $795.00 Nothing even added up to $795 for a patent. It would be MUCH MUCH more. I started to get the feeling that it was "too good to be true". I paid a company to do a patent search and discovered that the product had already been invented.
You also have to be aware that you have to be registered with the United States Patent office to file a patent on someone's behalf. They are not registered or is the name of the lawyer they provided even listed.
They also claim that the RIP OFF REPORT posts are made by one person overseas that is basically extorting them to have the posts removed. This is also not true. I had a friend call with an idea and they also told my friend that their idea was so unique and that they wanted to patent their idea. (The idea was already a product on the market!)
Please DO NOT send them ANY MONEY. It is a SCAM. You cannot get anything from the United States Patent Office for $795.
If you want a patent for an item contact a registered Patent attorney or agent. There are TONS listed on the United States Patent Web Site that are registered and legitimate.
I believe that there are several people involved in this scam working in various locations. They work out of private homes and normally block their number when they call. If you call them and tell them you have invented a toothbrush they will claim it has not been invented yet and for $795 they can get you a patent.
Again do NOT send them any money. Its a total Scam!
