I ordered the Debbie Meyer's green bags on the "official site." I placed my order and went through several pages of more offers. The only mention of shipping was stated as express shipping at $5.97. I thought that express is usually more expensive and there was no other shipping option to choose. As I finally got through the five to seven pages of other offers I clicked on continue and the next page that came up was the confirmation page. This is when it showed the shipping was over 80% of the total product cost.
I immediately called the customer service number listed on the site: http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/deb_m_gbags_ontv.html and I was told it would take 24 to 36 hours to cancel my order, which would be Monday 21 July. This site also said the product would ship in two to six weeks.
I called on Monday morning and was told the product had already been shipped. I asked about the fact that I was told I could cancel it on Monday by the representative I had spoken to immediately after the order was placed. If I had known the amount of shipping cost I would not have continued.
I was told I can return the product and will be credited the money back in three weeks. I have not received the bags yet, and I will return them.
The product is being shipped via the USPS which tells me how much over the actual cost of shipping I am being charged. I am going to follow up once the bags are returned, but I am not too hopeful.
