Greenbags.com uses some of the sneakiest, dirtiest, filthiest tricks in the book to shake customers down! Let me explain: first of all, I order merchandise and services from the internet constantly. I am also a small business owner. I am also familiar with website design AND - especially - customer service. This site (and the people who run it) have to absolutely be the slimiest, sneakiest, most deceptive crooks I have ever done business with. Once is enough with these people. Okay. I've ranted enough.
Let me tell you how it works: you are driven to their website by an ad (in my case, a TV ad). Looks innocent enough: special bags - touted by this "Debbie Meyer" herself (and she should be ASHAMED that she allows her name and face to appear in conjunction with whoever does her marketing!!!) that help you keep your groceries fresh. Special price of $9.95 plus S & H. How can you get burned, right? You go to their website, click on the offer, enter you credit card info and try to check out. THIS is where is gets slippery.
They deviate from good practices by forcing you through one "bonus offer" after another. More bags. Expedited shipping. On and on and on. You NEVER get to confirm your order - - like any other LEGITIMATE merchandiser allows. Until, finally, you get through their maze and see that your order is for MANY more bags and offers than you ever intended to purchase. There is no way to modify your order at this point. You never had any choice!!! So... You drill down through their website for a customer service number. I use the term "customer service" in jest here.
What you get is a person who tells you they CANNOT and WILL NOT modify or cancel your order until it is "processed" - which, according to them, takes at LEAST 24 hours. What a scam. I have NEVER seen such dishonesty. The website is OBVIOUSLY designed to mislead and cause the same "mistake (s)" that I made during the order process. And I'm a computer-savvy guy. I make my LIVING with a computer. I can't even IMAGINE how many "mistakes" some less-than-savvy person might make while ordering their product. The total is for MUCH more than you ever intended, and they absolutely REFUSE to correct the problem when you are the phone with them.
This is UNHEARD of, definitely immoral and unethical, and probably illegal. Don't EVER do business with Debbie Meyer Green Bags.!!!
