Please include us in this Class Action Suite against Option One Mortgage.
Our Story is the same as all the others you have read. We had our first mortgage with Option One. We ran into financial problems, were late on a few payments, that's when Option One reared it's ugly venomous head.
We were charged with outrageous fees and late payments. We were told that our payments must be sent by certified check and certified mail to Ada DR., Irvine, CA. We complied with their request, thinking that would be the end of their bullying. Option One took forever to process their payments, even if you sent them two weeks in advance you were late, which made you later and later, adding more and more late fees and misc. Charges. No matter what positive steps you made, we were always at fault.
This Company called us every single day, it was nothing more than an interrogation; who, what, when, where, why? If you refused to tell the same story for the 100th time, they would threaten our mortgage. Employees of Option One were having a great time, they would just eat away at you until they reduced you to tears.
We then ran into another hardship, our 17 year old son was not feeling up to par. We started with our family internist who just didn't know, our child had many different symptoms. Yes we started running late on our payments, still be charged their outrageous fees and penalty's. They were relentless with their calls, letting us know how worthless we were and didn't deserve to own a home.
Our son was feeling worse, a lot of money was going to medical bills, we explained all that to Option One and they treated it as a joke.
Option One Mortgage began returning our payments (which we could not figure out) and kept adding their ridiculous charges. They didn't want to hear anything we had to say.in a last ditch effort we sent them a check for a few thousand dollars in hopes of getting them off our back. My husband and I were new to this state, we had no support group. Between Option One and our child we were in tears many a time.
Option One foreclosed on us without notice. A man who flips houses, called and asked if he could come and look at our home? RED FLAG! He told us that the town paper had just come out (it was a Saturday) and that our house was being auctioned off at the court house that Monday Morning. It was to late for us to do anything, to help ourselves in any way.
My husband went to the auction to see our home go to the first bidder. Here we are with not much money, no home and nowhere to go. It was summer, very hot and humid here. We had to be out in 10 days.
The tragic end to our story is this: We found a landlord who would rent to us, at a higher price than our mortgage payment, which means we are stuck here and will never have the money to buy another house again.
Less than one year after this hideous, vicious, hainous, unneeded act against us, our son had his first of three brain surgeries. Our lives will never ever be the same.
This foreclosure happened many years ago. What is taking so long with this case. Option One has ruined the lives of thousands of people who deserve an answer and money. This happened to us six years ago, I have written many many letters, and still nothing.
If every one of us dealing with Option One were caught with a few buds of marijuana or some resin in a pipe, we would all be arrested sitting in jail waiting to make bail to go to trial. Let us, the Federal Government, Attorney Generals, whom ever it takes focus on the real hard core criminals.
