Susan Peelman has a sadistic need to take advantage of the vulnerable. My husband and myself are currently trying to get out of our lease for many reasons. First of all, the crime in the area is of concern for us and our 2 year old son. On two occasions her drug addicted tenants have come up to me asking for money. One month ago another tenant of hers came to our door to inform us that this was not a place to raise a child and that we need to leave as soon as possible. She continued to say that there are drugs being sold right outside her door and that prostitution is occurring in Susan's building. Susan's reply?'That's not my problem, call the police'. Which we have however they have told us that this is the landlord's problem. Oh yeah, she heard from her maintenance man (who doesn't even live here) that the neighborhood is getting better. NOT TRUE! We are paying our rent on time so that she can lock us out of the laundry room, FORCE us walk around the block in a crack neighborhood to get to our car, deal with the cockroach infestation (we have a two year old!) and feel unsafe everytime we walk out our door. The air conditioner was broken for three weeks in hot Florida heat and humidity. She is a greedy slumlord who could care less about her tenants. We had problems with her the day we moved in. The previous tenants owned a dog and there not only was a flea infestation throughout the house but the master bedroom reeked of wet dog.in fact five months after moving in it still smells like dog. Susan refused to change out the carpet and told us to deal with it because she illegally (she gave no notice) entered our unit to find our cats. We were aware of her pet policy but were waiting until the weekend to take them to the SPCA and even when we did she refused to change the carpet. It has been hell living here. We are not deadbeat tenants. Our rent is always paid on time. We are good people looking for a decent place to live. We have been trying to call her but she refuses to answer our calls. The maintenance man told us that she's probably at her massage therapy. Susan is a spiteful rotten lady and unfortunatley we'll probably end up having bad credit because of this. However it is not worth living in these conditions.
