OK, I was really ripped off my husband said, a young man came to the door and my daughter opened it, a young man saying that he lived around the corner, gave a description of the womean there as her mom and the dog... To get my trust... Sadly he lied about it all and is probably telling the next person about how I am his Mom... He was trying to get a promotional trip needed to sell a certain amount of magazine subscriptions, he appealed to me because he said it was tax decutible and that the subscriptions were going to soldiers in Iraq. Lastly he said that he was coming over with his riding mower to cut the grass the next weekend just because we helped him out.
The guy was in Alexandria Virginia this week, he is white, short hair, earings in each ear, average height he called himself Sean, he was selling subscriptions for $34 a year plus $15 S&H fee because they had to be mailed to Iraq, my husmand told me that APO boxes for soldiers do not cost extra even if in Egypt...
Please report any such scams to the police like I did tonight and never give money especially cash, to door to door solicitors.
