Elderly mother, cancer-stricken was contacted June 5; via phone by American Credit Counselors about debt consolidation. She told them she was not able to make any business decisions due to heavy pain medications and asked the information be sent to her home. She recieved a packet and learned she was charged $499.99 for thier services. Upon learning this, she contacted American Counselors on June 16,17 and 18 to discuss. She was passed to various persons who literally screamed at her and told her she would not be refunded the money charged to her account.
She has not and will not be utilizing thier service.
Quite frankly, the company has taken advantage of a vunerable individual, who clearly stated she was on medications, unable to make clear decisions; to pursue fraudulent practices and now refuses to recitfy thier negligence to end the call and refund the money taken under false pre-tense.
Since when? Is it ever acceptable for "Counselors" to scream at clients? I am apalled this "Company" is allowed and continues to conduct "business" in our country and use the name "American". This "Company" and it's "Counselors" should to be held accountable by law; including the loss of privlige to conduct any "Business" now or in the future.
