Reduced Rate Long Distance LLC called me and identified themselves as Verizon (my current phone service company) and told me they were changing my calling plan. When I told them I had just renewed my contract with them (Verizon), they responded that all past contracts were null and void.
At the end of the conversation, they switched me to some 3rd party verification, which I was led to believe was an outside verification company. They claim to have this verification on an audio file and have repeatedly said they sent this to me... They have not. Also, incidentally, it seems that none of their deceptive practices are on that audio tape... Just the verification part at the end.
After all this was said and done, I called the number they provided, just to double check and when the party on the other end answered, they identified themselves as Verizon.
I didn't even know the term "slamming" existed until I started seeing extra charges on my Verizon phone bill.
Reduced Rate Long Distance LLC is a dishonest, fraudulent company and they deserve whatever comes their way.
