Advantage Boss Marketing

Ads posted on CareerBuilder and Monster lead you to believe you would be marketing to professional sports teams all over the nation.

On the first interview (of which I waited over an hour), I was finally called in and a fast talking guy shows me a pile of products that they have marketed to the Houston Texans/Astros/Rockets/Aeros, L.A. Dodgers. Oakland Athletics... Etc. The products are pamphlets and coupons for tickets, concessions, and sports memorabilia at games. He then talks about their aggressive marketing that involves face to face sales as opposed to magazine, billboard, TV advertising.

He then invites me to a 2nd interview that would be a "hands-on" day with different clients. I arrive, and the receptionist has me fill out a form that says I won't be paid by the hour for my work today, but I'll receive a commission one whatever I sell. The owner of the company comes out, shakes my hand and says he'll be the one I'll be following for the day. So me and 3 other current employees, pile in to his Ford Explorer and drive 45 mins to a "client". The entire time, he talks endlessly about different aspects of marketing and advertising that they take and how much more effective it is. It was as if he memorized a marketing textbook chapter by chapter.

He then pulls into a Walgreen's parking lot and one of the guys in the back gets out, grabs a box and a table and walks around the corner. Still ceaselessly talking about marketing, the owner drives to another Walgreens, and the other guy gets out. We pull into a 3rd Walgreens, and he says, "Alright, let's do this."

He shows me a little coupon book filled with little buy one get one free coupons for oil changes and appetizers and local restaurants.

They hawk coupon books outside of Walgreen's. Very Deceitful, Very Unethical, and very Dishonest.
