I contacted Pharmasset reguarding the the check I received from SurveyLot. They responded quickly stating they have been scammed as well and are working with the f.B. I to stop this. They stated to me that this was not their check nor did anyone working there write or sign it. However, it seems odd to me that they aknowledge they had an account at this bank and had to close the account due to this stuff going on. If this was not their check and had nothing to do with it then how did this happen to be written from their bank and subsequently close a certain account? They say this is not from their company, how can such a coincedance be that they bank at the same bank the check was written on, they closed an account at that bank and their name and address is typed on the check as the payee. The check was watermarked for security and my bank inspected the check and found it to be a legitimate check just from a closed account. My bank stated that it was not a phony or fake check. It was just written on a closed account! I think that Pharmasset should pay me the amount I am damaged and seak out whoever they feel wronged them! Is there any justice out there? Any ideas on how to handle this one let me know cause everyone is playing dumb.
