Bob Kopp sold me a complete Gyro Copter that he makes. Knowing I was old and to sick to build one he instead, sent me a pile of junk he had laying in his junk pile that could not be flown with out completely rebuilding it. I had to pay
someone to work on it and a year later it still needed Design work and was
unsafe at any speed. All total Bob Kopp committed fraud that cost me $5000.
He currently, is still selling these and looking for suckers to buy them. Below is a letter from another person who knows the work of Bob Kopp and the Midnight Hawk.
Mark, I have to agree with you. I recently had the sad opportunity to work with a man that purchased a gyro from Bob Kopp. I could not believe the shoddy workmanship and just flat out hazardous construction of the gyro plane. I did not want to offend you when you wrote that you had a gyro from Kopp, that's why I asked what you thought of the kit. Trust me if anyone asked about the kit Kopp sells I will most emphatically tell them to stay away!
I did run the machine down the runway for the owner, it did lift off but I would not fly the machine unless there were LOTS of changes made! The engine mount is just plane nuts! Controls, and yes the rudder pedal set up almost unusable. I am so sorry for what has happened to you and I will contact the PRA about the add they run in their manufacturers list.
