Tax Masters, Inc, Houston, TX. Beware of Tax Masters. I sought their assistance, after seeing their ad on TV with founder Patrick Cox, with some outstanding taxes I wished to payoff. I called them and asked them some questions about their services and cost. At that time I decided to use their service and gave my credit card number for the deposit. They immediately deducted $700 from my account.
My sister was diagnosed with CA and so I went to be with my family and assist. A week later I decided against using their services and contacted them to get my deposit returned. They refused saying that this was a retainer not a deposit. I was shocked. No contract had been signed, there was no disclosure of the terms and conditions prior to deducting from my account, no information about my tax situation had been transfered and they would not return my money!
After many calls and talking to different people in the company I was told by someone "if we returned everybodies' money, how would we make any money?" My responce was how about just providing good and ethical service.
I proceded to send letters and emails to Patrick Cox and the Company. To this day I have not yet been reembursed and have been told I was not eligible for reembursement.
