Ex-boyfriends are the worst!
It's bad enough to have your own, but when you get smeared by your MOTHER'S Ex-boyfriend... It's a Rip Off!
This guy dates my mom. Everything's great for a while. He loves her, right? Yeah and she loves him back for sure.
My mom's always been careful with guys around us kids, but this time, me and my brother really thought the guy (Danny) was cool.
The best part? We're neighbors with him! He had a motorcycle, guitars, and some cool computer stuff. I spent a lot of time there with him and his dad.
Danny even got my mom to make a My Space! I had to help her, but for mom, this was way out there!
His was DFD. I was on his top friends list! His MySpace rocked. Even my brother made one...
Yeah... So mom's all happy and that was a real change too.
The thing is I had a lot in common with Danny. He was into photography and music just like me. We were both way more artistic than mom. And my brother was going to learn how to play guitar with Danny. He was like a best friend to us.
Danny used to talk to me about going to art school and helping me plan my future. Mom tried that stuff, but he knew art, so I listened to his advice.
I've never laughed more than when we were all together. We had a blast.
Danny and mom were so close that I even let him give me fatherly advice and rules to follow—stuff mom never let a boyfriend do before. But I was okay with it. I wanted Danny to be proud of me and like me.
But Danny went back with his ex-girlfriend and busted my mom's heart. She found this other lady's boots and things in Danny's SUV on Christmas Day.
Mom broke up with him right in front of me for treating her bad and cheating on her.
It was ugly after that. It's been ugly since. They had a lot invested with businesses and money and plans for the future. They lost a lot.
But the real Rip Off... Danny starts smearing ME in all this. What did I do?
He even wrote me an email blaming me for trying to contact the lady he cheated on mom with... And that he was washing his hands of ME.
The thing is... I didn't dump Danny, my mom did!
I really looked up to Danny, DFD. It's bad enough to hurt my mom. But he doesn't have to drag me into it.
Ex-boyfriends can be really mean. But a mom's ex-boyfriend is way worse. And the real bad part is we still have to be his neighbor.
I just wish they would stop fighting. I don't know where I fit in all of it. I shouldn't have to be involved at all!
He's not MY ex-boyfriend.
