Get Worldwide
Previously Platinum Marketing marketing scam

My boyfriend worked for Get Worldwide since July. When he started, he thought it was the best opportunity he would ever come across. He found their post on careerbuilder saying that he'd be working with pro sports.

He went for his interview, where they seemed to be laid back and fun. They asked him to come back the next day to see how everything is done and since it was a Friday, they had their "challenge day" where they were throwing water balloons at each other, pies in the face, antiquing, etc. They told him his first day that he would be getting his own office in a few months and that he was one of the best employees they have hired. Everything was good at that point.

He started out selling the Indian's discount cards, for 3 days (at the end of the season when they wouldn't be good for much longer). After that they were selling discount gas cards (that didn't work), subway coupons from Smart Circle (that the Subway's around here don't even accept) and pizza cooupons from dominos. He was bringing home good money so he thought it was going to be great. They had him out in the winter walking around selling home improvement products (or getting people to have quotes done? I'm not sure) and he'd have his leads signed up, but if any backed down, he'd lose that money.

I was pregnant when he started and he was working from 9 am to 11 pm. I had a lot of complications with my pregnancy and they wouldn't even let him come home early from work while I was in the hospital finding out I was going to lose the baby.

Well after about 2 months of working there, everything started going down hill. We can't pay our bills. We have had 2 eviction notices in the last two months, we can't afford groceries, we have credit card companies calling because we can't pay those bills, he's pretty darn close to having his car reposessed, our electric is supposed to be shut off on Tuesday, our cable is shut off now, and our water is scheduled to be shut off soon as well. If it wasn't for my steady paycheck, we'd be living on the streets. Everytime I talk to him about his job though, he says it'll get better, just trust him. Well I'm losing my trust in his job very slowly.

They have brainwashed him. Everytime he says something to his boss ADAM ROBINETTE, he keeps saying that he has to stay because he will get his office in a few months. He's been saying this for a while and it still hasn't happened, is it ever? The reason Adam was able to survive this job is because he lived with his mother, didn't have a car, and didn't have any bills to worry about while he was trying to get his own office. Well now he has it, and still doesn't have a car, and lives with his employees. He mixes his business life with his personal life - if a guy owes him money from dinner or rent, he keeps his paycheck. He also tells my boyfriend who he should and shouldn't be friends with because they will bring him down.

Everytime I tell my boyfriend he needs to find a job, he tells me if I'm not happy I should just leave him and that I just don't understand his job. I'm not going to leave him for that reason, but I wish he wasn't so naive about this job and realized that none of those sugar-coated promises are going to come true.
