Consolidated Resorts Inc, Tahiti LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL - Must Be a Company Policy

To begin, I have read a couple other reports from other people that have been deceived by Consolidated Resorts. THE STORY IS THE EXACT SAME! I fully believe they train their staff, how to LIE, CHEAT and STEAL from unknowing potential customers.

In November of my fianc and I decided to visit Las Vegas and take part in a timeshare presentation.

We went in skeptical, and had a bunch of questions for our sales rep to make sure that we would not get ripped off. Obviously, I was wrong from the get go.

We wanted to make sure we could travel as much as we want, within reason, and our friends and family would be able to travel as well. We wanted to be able to use it as a weekend getaway or be able to travel as a family to Las Vegas, or anywhere else in the world because of the great selling power we would have.

I specifically asked our rep, would I be able to use the week during March Madness, to come back to Vegas, he said YES!

So at this point we are thinking that not much time is needed to set up a vacation. And that we would be able to travel a few times each year. This was confirmed when we spoke with his sales manager.

It was mentioned in another report that at about this point, they promised them 6 free vacations. We had the EXACT SAME ISSUE! The only difference was, we were sitting in a room with dozens of other couples, and they were raffling off these bonus vacations as some sort of additional prize. Every person that signed up got 1 free vacation. We held out, so that is when we got our 6 "FREE" vacations.

That is when we were completely sold. We were thinking, 6 vacations, that can be great. Our belief is now... We have 2-3 VACATIONS from our timeshare each year, and 6 FREE VACATIONS. We are set for the next few years. Right? WRONG! Remember, they are trained to lie to you, steal from you and cheat you out of your money.

We are sold and ready to go. The entire process, once again as mentioned in other reports, took way to long. An hour presentation ended up taking 4 hours. We were tired and frustrated, but felt we had made a good decision.

Like others, they had my fianc sign one set of papers and had me sign the other. This now has led to more confusion. So along with us flat out being lied to, she remembers certain details and lies, and I remember other portions.

Other issues we had while there, was how they tried to keep us busy. During the next couple days of our trip, we constantly received phone calls from our rep, and each day he attempted to meet us for lunch, and gave us show tickets. I believe this is to make sure you are to busy to rethink your decision. While typing this, I don't have the info in front of me, but I know there was a time limit to when you could change your mind. 72 hours? He did not want that to happen.

We were told that this would help us increase our credit score as well, we are young, and that was intriguing. NOT TRUE! I am not even on the deed! No one told us this would be the case, and in 6 months, no one has explained why.

Once we returned home, we told everyone about how great of a time we had, and how convinced we were we made the correct decision. UNTIL WE ATTEMPTED TO PLAN ANY OTHER TRIPS!

WE CANNOT TRADE OUT TRIPS AS STATED! We have to wait for someone to want to go to Vegas

I specifically asked "ARE WE CLOSE TO THE STRIP The sales rep said, "WE ARE ON THE STRIP RIGHT NOW!" It was Vegas, it was late, and I was very tired. So I thought, ok, sure, maybe that is the strip. I looked out of a small window and had no clue what direction I was facing. I thought I would be on the strip. IT IS 2 MILES FROM THE STRIP!

We CANNOT BREAK UP THE WEEK! Wow, so instead of traveling 2-3 times per year, I am traveling ONCE EVERY OTHER YEAR!

Yes, that point was read correctly. WE WERE SOLD A TIMESHARE FOR EVERY OTHER YEAR USAGE! The sales rep distinctly said we could travel every year as much as we wanted.

Like, others have said, the 6 FREE TRIPS ARE USELESS! I sent in $84 to register my trips, and I have no idea if I am going. They give you 40 destinations to choose from, but when you try registering, they mail you a letter saying, "we will contact you 45-90 days before your trip to let you know if it is available." HOW CAN YOU PLANE A TRIP THAT WAY? I mailed it off in January for a possible August cruise, and that is all I have heard. When you call, they refuse to speak to you before your time to hear from them. WOW! I read that these trips end up costing you a $1000, but I would not know because, NO ONE WILL SPEAK TO ME!

I won't even get into what I am paying for this timeshare, as I have found out, if I would have gotten what they have promised, it still is a RIP OFF!

Customer service is horrible. They lost my first welcome package, and then sent it to the wrong address. I am constantly transferred to someone who barely knows what is going on. This is easily the worst decision I have made in my life. If you have not guesses, I was not able to attend March Madness either.

We were lied to by the sales rep and the sales manager in basically every aspect of this timeshare. The sales presentation is a joke, as they set it up to be some sort of Wheel of Fortune type of game show, where everyone is a winner. WHAT HAVE I WON?

Another funny coincidence between my experience and another poster... I AM SUPPOSED TO BE THE PERSON RECEIVING ALL CALLS! Yet, my fianc is continuously getting calls at work, and on her cell.

Why are we getting calls? Some other sort of fee that we still do not understand. We have to pay our yearly maintenance fees, yet our year is 2009.

Oh did I forget to mention that? I CANNOT TRAVEL UNTIL 2009! If we wanted to travel sooner, and bump the week up to this year, we would have to pay some other set of fees, which amounted to 3 months worth of our mortgage. WOW!

I need help from anyone who knows what direction, others who were lied to by CONSOLIDATED RESORTS, and myself should take.

I feel cheated, and betrayed. So I guess in their eyes, the sales rep did his job.

I am definitely supporting anyone who wants to file any sort of a lawsuit against Consolidated Resorts, and Tahiti Village. I will lead the march down, what they call the STRIP, in pursuit of some sort of justice.
