On January 31, I paid $197.00 over the internet to a company called Process at Home. This company was supposed to provide me with the means and training to process rebates from my home using my personal computer. According to the ad, within 5 minutes of my signing up I was to receive the confidential information to begin processing rebates.
On February 1 I sent an email to [email protected] regarding the fact that no information was forthcoming. On February 2, I got an email stating that I had signed up for a 7 week course and it was on its way.
Eventually, I did get a course online each week; however, there was nothing regarding processing rebates from home. Just before the 7th week, I sent another email requesting the promised training and information and was told via email from "Angel's helper" that it would be in the final lesson. When I got the final lesson and there was nothing about processing rebates from home, I emailed this scam artist for a refund.
I would like to point out that the ad for the service says that if I am not happy with the product, I will get double my money back. I received an email stating that $197.00 was being credited back to my credit card. I emailed them for the other $197.00 they owe me and got a response to the effect that I got my initial investment back so just shut up and be satisfied.
I am just not one to roll over and play dead so I started investigating this E.S. Easyway company that had debited and credited my credit card. I found that on the website under warranties they do business out of Nicosia, Cypress; not the United States even though there is a California address somewhere on the website.
I am in the process of contacting the U.S. Embassy in Cypress for a list of contract attorneys who might take my case on contingency. I believe that because of the scam, the lawyer might be able to make quite a bit of money out of this case just getting my $197.00 additional fee back and any pain and suffering this company has caused me.
