Took deposit for inmate, inmate did not recieve money but they would not refund my deposit! They Said The Headquarters Are In San Jose

Unfortunately, the detention center where a friend of mine was staying didn't run their own inmate accounts program. You had to deal with this horrible company, so when this problem occured, both parties told me to speak with the other & neither would take full responsibility.

I sent a significant amount of money (a few hundred dollars) to an inmate a couple days before they were to be released from the detention center. Seeing as how I could not give it to them in person since they were in a different state, I thought I would have no problem sending them the money through this company. However, when they were to be released from the detention center, the officers told my friend I had not sent them anything since their account didn't have any extra money on it. After caling me & telling me this, I checked the website & on my account it said the transaction had a "Failed" status. I called the company & asked why it did not process, & they told me it was because the detention center cleared the inmate from their records a day early & that is why the transaction failed. They told me my credit card would not be charged.

A couple days later I check the charges on my credit card & sure enough I was charged for the Failed transactions. I call IC Solutions or ICS Deposits, and they tell me the jail (Tacoma DRO Detention Center) should have my money if my credit card was charged. I call the jail & they tell me they didn't recieve any money & were surprised why ICS told me to call them. Take my info & tell me they will call me back after it is settled. (This never happened of course). So I call ICS back & tell them that jail does not have my money, so the operator tells me they will have to send my information to the Headquarters to a manager in California since their regular Customer Service agents cannot do anything to help me. They tell me I will recieve a call back within the next few days.

A few days go by & of course I do not get a call back. I call the 1-888-218-7444 Customer Service line again & tell them again of my concern. They tell me to just keep waiting since they cannot contact anyone in the headquarters at that time, maybe they were busy playing golf or something. So I ask for a way to contact a manager at the Headquarters myself, and they tell me THERE IS NO WAY I CAN DO THAT. The only people who can actually help me are unreachable, & they refused to give me any phone number, e-mail, or mailing address for the company. What kind of company does this?!?!

After calling a couple more times I finally give up in trying to get over $500 back from them which they stole from me & called my credit card company. Now I guess they won't be able to play games & try to jip a lone consumer with no power.
