Salvation Army Thrift Store
Employees taking items from the hands of shoppers

I was in the Salvation Army store last night looking at a bicycle someone had brought in. I asked the manager about it, and she went out back to look at it with me. A couple of Salvation Army truck drivers (the ones who deliver goods to the stores) had arrived, and were offloading a truck. When the manager finally came out back, I inquired about it, and one of the truck drivers came over and took the bicycle from my hands, saying he wanted it. He said it was company privilege for working there and he could take anything he wanted, having first refusal on it. I looked at the manager, who shrugged her shoulders, turned around, and went back in the building. He put the bicycle in the back of his truck and left with it.

I am going to file a formal complaint as well, but thought you all should know. If you find something, grab it and don't let it go. I find it HARD to believe it's the policy of the Salvation Army, so I'm going to find out and hopefully some heads will roll.
