I called Waldron Electric Company at 8:00AM on 12/10/07 to investigate a total power outage at my home. I was told that there would be a $90 fee for them to come out and I agreed to that. The electrician arrived at 10:30AM and immediately had me sign an initial credit card infomation. He then informed me the there would be an inspection fee of over $400 and a $100 fee for resetting the circut breaker. The electrician was there for about an hour, most of the time doing paperwork and filling out forms. I was charged $651.00.
During this time he advised me that I needed an entire new circut box and that would cost $8,731. I told him no and he put me on the phone with his boss who said that they could do it for something over $5,000. I told him no.
I then contacted a reputable local contractor who told me that I did not need a new box but if I really wanted that done it would cost approx $1,700.
He is changing one circut breaker at a cost of $266, no travel fee, no inspection fee, no reset fee.
I would never use or recommend Waldron Electric because their pricing policies and practices are innappropriate and I consider them dishonest.
