RW Hertel & Sons, Inc. Is indeed a Rip off company, they build substandard New homes State Wide. If you are one of the sorry victims who bought one of their homes the first thing you need to do if file a formal complaint with the State Contractors Board known as CSLB then file a claim against there bond as well and then hire a Law firm to file a Suit against them.
Next or rather before you buy a Hertel made home check with Google, NexisLexis and or ChoiceTrust they have a massive file on them. Also check on the CSLB Web site and search RW Hertel you will find a very Public State Press Release on them dated 10-19-05 shoddy builder etc..
They have a State wide reputation for Lying Covering Up there defective built homes and many that have had Mold which made many families and children ill.
The various Cities they have built in have many complaints in the local building department as well the State has a massive file on them as well as do the multi's Courts State Wide on their many law suits for defective Building and Mold laced homes. They were ordered to fix an entire New Development called RANCHO OBISPO, all the New homes apparently were defective and leaking with growing mold in them. They used an independent inspector named Johnny Zamrzla of Palmdale, CA who confirmed to the Owners and the State all 100% of the Hertel homes he inspected were NOT to code and defective. According to one insurance company investigator RW Hertel and his many other names is the most dishonest builder they have ever had. So be advised when buying any home check to verify the builder, check with Google, ChoiceTrust, NexisLexis and your local building dept. If it is Hertel you will find a long list of defective homes and complaints and lawsuits with him. Just a friendly word of caution on RW Hertel & Sons, Inc check him out before you buy.
