I bought a Rancho Obispo Home from R.W. Hertel and Sons shortly after I moved in I soon learned of there shabby and below standard work. Roof leaks, windows leaks, door handles break off, cracks in the floor, broken appliances, poor qualtiy painting and off color. Mold growing on the walls holes in the ceiling from leaks, our HOA had to hire a Law Firm to protect the owners, many homes have mold and leaks, one home was so poorly built and had so many problems the builder had to buy it back, the city council blasted them for poor quality and the many complaints they have received in addition to the many law suits they have had from all over there developments.
I would fore-Warn anyone be very careful before buying a R W Hertel Home they are indeed the worst! Built and they try to lie and misled you and cover up if you have toxic mold in the home due to there negligence. Out of 53 new homes thus far in less than one year we have had over 13 homes with water leaks and roof problems not to mention the numerous other problems several original owners and investors have already sold to get away from HERTEL's poorly built homes, the City Inspector has said they are the Poorest qualtiy homes he has ever dealt with.
