I received an email from this company that stated that I didn't have to complete any promotional offers to receive this trip to CANCUN, MEXICO and for me to call this 800 number with this promotional code. SO, I did, to see what I would have to do... When I get an agent on the line, Anne Marie, who insisted that I write her name down, she went over all these fantastic things that they were giving me if I was to take their sales tour... I had worked as a telemarketer for another timeshare resort, so I already knew what she was offering... But, I was amazed that I was being given not only a trip to ORLANDO, DAYTONA, DISNEY WORLD, a ROUND TRIP CRUISE TO THE BAHAMAS, and a 4DAY STAY IN THE BAHAMAS (all inclusive), but it wasn't just a trip for 1 or 2 people, but for!!! 4!!! So they had me... Even though they said that it was all inclusive, then told me that I would be responsible for airfare and ground transportation... I figured this would still be cheaper for my husband, me, and our 2 children, to go on this long vacation... Even when they said only 2 trips to Disney World, I thought, that it still would be cheaper to buy 2 children's tickets to Disney World... I was thinking, going through some presentation for timeshare would be worth the savings... Then Anne Marie requested that I make a payment of $498.00, with my credit card, right then... When I told her that I couldn't make that type of payment right now, it is the beginning of the month and I just made my mortgage payment, and have other bills that still have to be paid... She put me on hold "to see what she could work out" then some guy, who said he was some kind of director, came on the line, when I told him that I was interested, but couldn't give them my card information because there were no funds even available right now in my account, he told me that I could pay $249 now and then have 2YEARS to pay the remaining $249 (even though the agent had just told me that I have 18MONTHS to use the vacation package before it expired) when I told him that I didn't have the funds and didn't feel comfortable, he told me that he could take a payment for $150 and still be able to reserve the vacation for me, I told him, AGAIN, that I didn't have the funds, he said that even if the card was ran and came back declined, they could still reserve my vacation package for me... All I would have to do is speak with some legal department, where they would record the conversation and go over payment options.
I told him that I didn't think that was a smart idea for me to do and that I thought that the whole thing was a little shady, especially since they were insisting that I give them by card information, fully knowing, because I had told them over and over and over again, that the funds they wanted to process wouldn't go through. He then told me that was fine and for me to watch for the next promotional offer they have and that they will give me a FREE gas card for my time and to hold on while he gets the information... Then I was transferred to ANOTHER sales person, offering some kind of magazine I've never heard of... I hung up before he even finished the 1st sentence... Wonder how far he got in the sales pitch before realizing no one was listening?:) ANY WHO... Do not listen to these people, if they are willing to take credit card information and know there are no funds there, they want that information for something other than what they are telling you... No legitimate sales office is going to take a credit card or debit card number after you tell them it will be declined!!! These are some serious, fast talking, scam artists... Even at the telemarketing center i worked at for timeshare wasnt this shady, and they were pretty shady!!!
