I have been with this company for about a month now on the hopes that I would have gone to day shift by now. I have a CDL and made more at an office job than I do now.
For about a $1.20 less an hour I work 10-12 hours a day 4-5 days a week. I've never intentionally late. Late only once because of car issues.
I called up last night and told them that I wasn't feeling well. I have to get my phone out of a truck that I used the night before; otherwise I wouldn't have even been able to call and tell them. I will never "no call no show".
I didn't know if the night shift supervisor was going to be there when I was after I got the phone I called and told them that I don't feel like working tonight because I was having a dizzy spell that prevented me from being able to stand for a period of time.
I'm fine driving; however I didn't want to get hurt on the job. Rather than risk it and getting fired because of that or getting in to an accident and definately getting fired for that. Now I have to look forward to talking to him Monday night. I've hardly asked for anything besides a regular paycheck and a truck thats fit to run.
This company is so cheap half of the trucks look like a POS.inside and out.
I honestly think the only way this company is staying in business is by docking employee paychecks for things that are out of our control. Like getting a flat tire when the truck was fine when we came back and locked up. The truck having a dead battery. Rather than charging the battery they went out and bought a new one; then charged the paycheck of the last person to use it. They'll find the stupidest things in the world to dock people for. Just as long as they can take that $1/hr safety bonus; thats all they care about. They wont even spend enough $ to get decent blowers for us to use.
We have to blow off sidewalks and cart corrals in parking lots. Half of the blowers dont work. The other half are on their way out.
I honestly don't know why I came to work here. Especially after seeing the condition of these vehicles. Don't let the pictures on the website fool you. Those are only 2-3 of the however many trucks they have. Those are the supervisor trucks. Except the Schwartz.
