Two months ago, a sweet young girl looking younger than 18 yrs came to our door and spoke with my wife. She said and wrote her name as "Taylor Scott", then said she was a neighbor and being home-schooled. She was trying to sell subscriptions to get money for a trip and that our neighbors had bought in.
She seemed very sincere and my wife bought a subscription for $57. She said we'd receive our first copy in 6 - 8 weeks. Our check was immediately cashed. We have received nothing and the company refused to refund our money. The girl is not a resident here. She pulled the same stunt on our neighbor next stating that we were hoping they'd help her. She lied and the company apparently encourages this type of sales technique.
Please remember to check for ID's on door-to-door sales people. Usually, local cities require registration for this. Be wary of people saying they are "neighbors" unless you actually know them.
