Caution. DO NOT finance your auto through Drive Financial Services! Take it from me, you cannot win!
Last year My husband decided to start "Repairing" his credit by purchasing a pre-owned 2002 Jeep Liberty from a local auto mall. He is recommend to go with Drive Financial to have his credit repaired within 12 mo. At that point the bank will offer you an option to refinance and drop the outrageous interest rate saving us just under 4k over the next 36 mo. O.K. Sounds like the usual price you pay for letting a bill fall behind, right?
At work I received a call from the salesman assisting my husband informing me that he has already pulled up my credit using my ss# and Drive Financial would approve the loan with me as a "co-signer". I decided to help both our credits and signed. What a mistake that was!
After 7 mo. My husband is seriously injured and has immediate back surgery. We are now faced with 3 mo of no income. I had to help with absolute bed rest for this recovery period. We informed Drive Financial about the income situation we were facing and was given a deferral of 2 mo. To keep from losing our jeep by only paying $100.00 and our next payment would be July 19.
About a month after making the payment as we were instructed, we receive a phone call informing us that drive financial "just didn't think we could afford our auto". I mentioned the deferral and she (the supervisor) tells me there never was a deferral granted on our loan. However, she could help by needing a $225.00 payment (why that amount? I don't know). We agreed to send the payment and later that evening OUR AUTO WAS REPOSSED!
6k in the hole and they are now billing me for $1,000.00 more than the original amount of the loan. Only $19.00 a month actually went towards the note of $367.00. They also contain documents on my income profile that are false documents, where did they come from? We will now face a repossesion on our credit until an investigator/attorney can clear this matter.
Please don't fall for this ripoff
