On 07/13/07, a check card purchase came up on my statement that said a purchase at VIP Tune was made on 07/11/07 for $29.99. I searched on the net to find out what the company was about. I found pages on other sites where people just like me had the same problem.
I called the bank immediately. They took a report and cancelled my Visa. I was also told to call the Police, which I did and they filed a report as well. But, here is the problem... They think this company is based in the country of Cyprus and now it becomes a FBI problem. I shall be turning to them as well. I may get turned away, but I might find out more information.
Sure, $29.99 is not that much money, but if you scan the net, you will see that this company is making millions. If we cannot fight $29.99, then what will stop them from charging $1000 or more to our credit cards. There has to be a way to fight this.
Now, tomorrow I have to go to the bank and fill out more paperwork. Here is my question: if they have access to my check card, do they also have access to my checking account?
