Fraudulent representation ripoff

What a scam! The young man who came to my door represented himself as my neighbor. I thought I recognized him as the kid who lives two doors down, but realized this was not him after opening the door. He then said he lived around the corner at a house I was familiar with, so stupidly, I let him continue. He gave me the song and dance about being a college student at the local university, in the theatre group, trying to raise money to perform in London. Stupidly again, I fell for it.

After agreeing to buy a magazine subscription he said would be sent to the troops in Iraq, he was on his way with my check. I knew something wasn't right, so I immediately started doing some research and boy did I feel dumb! I immediately put a stop payment on my check and sent the cancellation out.

Interestingly, on the companys website, in tiny, tiny print at the bottom, it says it's "employees" are not affiliated with any schools or universities and are prohibited from stating or implying so. Hmmm, why do they all have the same little song and dance routine then!

What a bunch of lying scammers!
