There are plenty of other reports about the horrors of the Ramada Plaza resorts scams. Unfortunately I also bought into the scam. But thankfully, I did not actually take the vacation from hell that others have described.
I tried getting a refund after reading about the scams. Calling the company does not work. Well, at least it didnt for me. I encountered numerous rude customer service reps. All claming to be supervisors!
I followed the advise I was given on this website file a complaint with the FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE & CONSUMER SERVICES. The contact info is as follows:
DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES
2005 APALACHEE PKWY
TALAHASSE, FL 32399
1-800-HELP-FLA
www.800HELPFLA.com
So I filed a complaint with them and about 2 - 3 months later I received a letter from them saying that there were closing my case because it seemed the matter was resolved. They enclosed a copy of a letter they received from Gina Johns at the Ramada Plaza resorts stating:
"I am in receipt of your letter regarding the above-captioned consumer. A refund in the amount of $610 was issued to the consumer's credit card account. I am hopeful this matter has been reslved to your satisfaction".
Now, what is interesting about this is the fact that the credit card I purchased this "vacation package" with has now been closed for three years!!! I would love to know how she "credited" an account that has not existed for years! I am now in the process of trying to get to Gina Johns personally and have her explanation of why she is lying to the Florida Dept. Of Agriculture and myself. Anyway I am putting this up so you all understand how ridiculous a company they are.
