Evercom Correctional Billing Service
Not told call rates up front, charged $17 per call after prepaying

I started using this service last month and i used a pre-paid Visa. I paid Evercom $58.00 dollars to start this service they never told me how much each call would be. After 4 calls from my husband my calls were blocked. I called customer service and they told me i was in the negative. They charged me $17.00 dollars for each call. Any regular collect call from the county jail is only $8.00 dollars. Why do they charge so much when you pre-pay?
