I noticed a $47.50 charge on my credit card from web site address i don't recognize. I looked up the the address and it was where i ordered "free kit CD" on goverment grant. They asked for credit card info. So they can charge S&H $1.90 only.
I sent two emails to them, since that's only form of communicating with them, requesting explanation of this charge. I thought they charged me for cost of CD. I explained it was supposely free and money should be refund back to my account. 2 weeks gone by I did not hear anything from them.
I checked their web site again today and started to realize that it might have been for monthly membership fee. Since their membership fee was same amount as charge appear on my credit account. It says if i don't contact them to cancel the account, it'll be renewed automatically. But no where indicates by ordering "free CD" you're automatically be billed for membership.
I sent them 3rd email, this time to cancel the membership (which i never knew about) and threaten them what they are doing is illegal and i'll report to consumer protection agency. I finally got an email from them saying that my membership is now cancelled.
What blows my mind is that i never signed up for membership and i never authorized them the charge. Further more i never heard a thing from them acknowlegding that i became a member. I had never used their "service" and i don't even have access to their so called "grant resource center"
I replied to their email tonight saying that $47.50 should be refunded back to my account and i'll call my credit card to dispute this charge.
I feel obligated to report this so no other inocent people are not scamed into this. I wonder if they're keep changing name but doing same scam over and over again.
