This company, Warren International, was very vague on their job description. I was told I would be doing marketing. Their website didn't say anything about what it was EXACTLY that they did. I did notice that they had an ad about every day on career builder. That should have been my red flag. Oh well. On to my experience:
My first interview lasted around 15 minutes. My questions were expertly re-routed and when I asked for "a typical day in the life of this position?" I was certainly NOT told what I would be doing. After the interview I was told I would be called for another interview the next day.
My next interview was supposed to be a "job shadowing" interview. After spending 20 minutes in a waiting room with 7 other victims, I was assigned to a bitchy, fast-talking girl who I would be following around all day. Little did I realize that I would be trucking from door to door of buisnesses selling office supplies (and phone services for my comrades). Also, the girl I was following smoked the whole way there, ignored my presence for 1/2 of the day, took me to Arbys for lunch (in my buisness suit) and DID NOT PAY.
Later I was taken back to the company and spoke with the owner, Jen. I professionally explained my concern and displeasure with being so misled. She apologized and told me it was not like a used car salesman position and that vague descriptions were to be given to eliminate the stigma associated with sales jobs.
This is not a serious marketing position or company. The pay schedule is 100% commission. Please help me get the word out on this scam of a company.
