George Mougios Reports-Bridgeport's Xmas Grinches

George Mougios Reports

Common Sense

December 23

Christmas can be a tough time of the year for those who lost relatives and friends who made Christmas, Christmas. It is unusually hard for me as the Bridgeport Grinches came after me with a vengeance. Regular readers know the story but let me review some pertinent facts.

My beloved wife, Ellen, died some four years ago and it feels like yesterday to me. It was especially a bad

Time as the doctors at St. Vincent's Medical Center told us that she was free of cancer after surgeons there performed an operation. It's a long story but I warn all, BEWARE of ST. VINCENTS-you may be sent there and never come out alive. If you want more documentation, contact me.

Let me just add, that Stanley Scott of Fairfield, CT who goes to Mass everyday and partakes of Holy Communion daily, will not go to St. Vincent's. He

Told me that in case of emergency, he would ask to be taken to Bridgeport Hospital and if that is not possible, he stated he would rather die than be taken to St. Vincent's. Now coming from a devout Roman Catholic, those are tough words, especially for one as devout as Scott.

Well, back to me story. The Grinches took my house and I endured a fire there. I saved the house and to this day, I can't get through to the Bridgeport Fire Marshall. The powers that be in Bridgeport have blocked me from e-mailing any city officials. Telephone calls go unreturned or they place me on hold, never returning or picking up the phone.

While all this was going on, those who foreclosed cut down all the trees and bushes including a 30 foot Christmas tree my grandmother planted many years ago. That Christmas tree was very special to me. Now it's gone forever. The house is burned but not totally burnt and can be restored according to the fire officials there that night. Ever since I have been roaming around until a friend found me a place.

I suffer from anxiety attacks and panic and I have high blood pressure and mitral valve prolapse and inner ear problem and a bad leg to boot, but it didn't matter in the foreclosure case. Holy TrinityGreek Orthodox Church on Park Avenue, headed by Rev. Demetrios Recachinas, came as usual a day later and with no help except a few food baskets which were greatly appreciated but which were no "sweat" off Father Recachinas, who just got a pay increase, and is now over $120,000 a year, with some $9,000 just for health insurance. "Eat you hearts out, all, Orthodox priests who slave for a lot less. Now the senior citizens want a two story elevator erected at a cost of over $100,000.By the way, the Church runs on a LOSS yearly. Losing money but still granting increases to priest and staff.

The parishioners give of their time and efforts and think that by sending food baskets out, they have done their Christian Duty. Ironically, the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding, " is more true to life than even I would like to admit.

After I survived the fire, I went to church a few times and not ONE parishioner expressed sympathy or said simply, "Gee, George, I am sorry to hear.." NADA, nothing. They have these round tables in the main part of the hall and families occupy them. I tried to sit down next to a friend, and even he said, "that chair is for my son." Se La Vie! My lifetime search has been for the true church of Jesus Christ. I am still searching..

In all my problems with the City of Bridgeport and all the Grinches, I could not even get an attorney to represent me.in our Church, the last good attorney we had was George Cravatas, who ended up in a lot of trouble and lost his license but he knew the law but slipped up. That's another story. We have about four attorneys in our parish but they all want cash up front. That's why I wonder: WHERE DO ALL THE BRIDGEPORT CROOKS BROUGHT UP ON CHARGES and end up doing time anyway, GET those high priced lawyers like Attorney GULASH? Did you ever see the mansion he owns? Someone is paying, just like when the MOB bosses go to trial. But we know where they get the money from but where do lowly city employees turned crooked get the MONEY FOR the GULASHES?

More to come
