On August 17,2006, a fast-talking, though pleasant and engaging, young girl came to my door, selling magazine subscriptions, trying to earn points for some sort of trip. My first reaction was to refuse, but she was very friendly, so I decided to buy one.
I bought a bi-monthly subscription to a magazine for my toddler. The girl told me the orders take 6-8 weeks to process. Today (11-1-06), nearly eleven weeks later, I realized we never received it.
There is no telephone listed on the order form, but I was able to find one after considerable research online.
I called and told the woman what I was calling for. She was extremely annoyed, and said that the order had been sent to the publisher. She said that subscriptions take 3-4 MONTHS to process but since this is published only six times a year, it will take even longer. When I told her that the rep. Told me it takes 6-8 weeks, she was extremely rude and pointed out that it's written in a box above my signature to allow 90-120 days (this was scratched out on my copy).
I called the publisher and they have no record of the order, even though the customer service rep. Said that it was sent to the publisher.
I will wait until the first of the year and try again, however, I highly doubt that I will ever see this magazine subscription.
I would warn anyone against purchasing magazine subscriptions from this company!
