Ripoff, dishonest, fraudulant charges, but help may be on the way for you

I received my Aspire Visa card in Apr activated it and made 1 purchase of $109.00 about May 15. I then made a payment of $100.00 on May 31. This should of put may balance at about $169.00 (including all the startup fees). I checked my account online on June 3 and found I was over my $300. Limit. From that date until yesterday (8/11) I have been battling with these people.

The additional charges were from TWX for 15 magazines I didn't order. (Check there website FAQ has item there about TWX). When I called Aspire they said I made the charges and had to pay. So I call TWX after arguing with Aspire CS to get the number. TWX another joke as bad as Aspire. They told me they would credit the charges. This never happened.

I called Aspire back the same day and closed the account. Never received statement for June, July or Aug then in Sept I receive one with balance growing. Calling Aspire back they tell me they closed the other account and opened a new account because of the fraudalant charges.

AGain I told them to close the account. I was told as long as there was a balance they couldn't close account. This went back and forth up until July when I finally got the answers and help needed.

The call I received in July from collections gave me answers. They said I needed to talk to the Fraud Dept. And transferred me. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and was put on with an english speaking supervisor by the name of Lessie. The Fraud Dept # is 888-576-9432. I explained my situation and she agreed to research my payments and other credits due. She said she would call me back on July 11 but I told her I would be out of town so she told me she would call back on July 17. I also told her I wanted copies of the missing statements and I wasn't paying for them. She agreed and I received them when I got back from vacation.

As agreed she also called me on the 17th of July and left a message that she was still researching but would call me back on the 25th. Again she did as promised and when I called her back I spoke with a lady by the name of Ashley (Lessie gone for the day) and she told me the account was at a zero balance and I owed nothing and that the account was closed. She also told me I would be getting a letter stating this information.

Well yesterday I got the letter and it does in fact state the account is closed, the 3 credit bureaus have been notified and I owe nothing. I need to wait 30-45 days for the credit bureaus to update their information before requesting a credit report. Problem solved.

I realize this is long but I am hopeful it will help someone out there who has issues with this company. With all the run around you get from this company I would sugges going straight to the fraud dept. For help. They may not see it as fraud but when you are paying a company and payments are being posted properly and accounts closed for no reason that is fraud to me. Again keep track of who you speak with and dates, time, and notes on the conversation. Repeat information back to them so that you can get them to confirm what is being told to you. Demand to speak to a supervisor, I waited 15 mins on hold before I got one but it was well worth the wait.

Again I hope this helps someone out there and I will also say I will never do business with these people again.
